O Remember, Remember
Have I seen the hand of God in my life today?
He gave me the courage today to have a conversation I had been avoiding. He gave me joy through my son's first attempts at offering kisses, those wet, open-mouthed touches that fill my heart. He prompted me to go to my bookshelf and read a book I had never opened, which brought answers I didn't know I'd been seeking. Yes, I have seen the hand of God in my life today. Have you?

Um, Where did May go?
Wow, I just realized I haven't blogged in over a month! I have no idea where the month went. Oh, wait, I know...remodeling!!! We started remodeling just before my birthday in April and everything is still a horrible mess. Isn't it amazing that when our physical space is chaotic everything seems chaotic? It's true! Luckily, Grant still isn't crawling so the tools, screws, mortar and other dangerous obstacles only injure Jonathan and I, not the baby. (I say this because I just stubbed my pinky toe on the drill case, and it still throbs!) I keep praying for a miraculous completion to be just around the corner, but instead another thing crops up. Most recently, we've discovered that the shut-off valve under the kitchen sink needs to be replaced! Oh, the joys of homeownership. And yes, I do still thank HF every night that I have a home to keep my family safe.
On other notes, my mother is recovering and I am comforted that she made it safely through back surgery. I hope that once she gets over the pain of surgery, she'll discover genuine relief from the pain in her back.
Work is going at a break-neck speed, believe it or not! Everyone seems to think summer would be easy for me, but it is filled with conferences, retreats, and training. (I'm in charge of the summer training, and I love it!) No complaints--I adore every part of it, but there is always so much more than I wish I could do. I love BYU, I love my students, and my co-workers ROCK!
I have also been applying for ANOTHER graduate program, but I think this one will stick. It is at Capella University, where I can get a degree online by April. Yahoo! They've accepted a lot of my credits from SMU, so I would only have to complete 7 classes to earn my Masters of Education degree. I was hoping to not have to pay anything more for college, but BYU really offers no options for me. It is a great University, but not focused on graduate education, unfortunately for me. Still, Jonathan and I feel that it is worth it to not have to wait another 3-4 years to get me the degree. So, here we go again!
Grant is doing wonderfully. He babbles a lot now, as if he was actually speaking to us. I'm sure he thinks he is! His hair has grown in a lot, and it is thicker than I expected. I can't tell you the color--sometimes it looks blonde, sometimes brown, sometimes even a little red, so I'm waiting to see, but his eyes are still quite blue. He is a mama's boy--he definitely wants to be with Mom whenever I'm around, and puts up a fuss to be held. I love it that he knows me!
Anywho, just thought I better put out a quick update before people start wondering where I've gone!
